Flashback: Episode XII Memoir #6

“You will become What I am”

 
While the armies of Rune Midgard were being prepared, the city of Lighthalzen was bustling in commotion. Dr Frust was under order to prepare the army of Reikenber. He was worried. His experiments were not ready and it would be dangerous to do so. Yet under pressure he had no choice left.
 
In his laboratory Dr Frust prepared an injection for another test subject. The volunteer was placed in a vat and given the injection. The Vat was sealed shut and the doctor stood back, monitoring his latest research.
 
The subject suddenly screamed. His eyes bulged with a green glow. His body began to tremble and it punched the glass of the vat repeatedly before collapsing into a seeming coma. The serum didn’t seem positive. Within seconds he looked translucent. Yet another failure. The doctor ordered guards to dispose the body into the dungeons.
 
As the guards carried the victim away, the doctor began his report on the current status. His genetic modification had reached a stump. Time was not on his side and the lives of the people were at stake. He had reached his limits. He knew if releasing the subjects now it would have reversed effects. They were no longer human. They were far more powerful than the warriors and military of Rune Midgard. The only problem was they did not have a mind. Soulless Zombies that killed almost anything upon sight.
 
The Doctor knew that if the time came that the city was under attack, he would unleash these Minions against the evil forces. He looked down out of the laboratory window, those soulless, wretched things were staring back at him with hollow eyes. The Army of Doppelgangers would fight the war of humans, regardless of the casualties.
