Top 8 Characters (Pre-Renewal)

Throughout the years, Ragnarok Online has seen its fair share of Great Teams, Great Guilds, and Great Players. What differentiates the best from the rest? The common belief is the better your equipments are, the more OWNAGE you are. That we cannot deny but not all equipments can be used by ANY Character, or player. We now take a look at the Top 8 Ranked Characters before the Renewal System voted by the Midgard Corp.
Number 8: The Gypsy

Before the renewal, Everyone had good equipments and good team work, Heck they even had good spouses. In this punk-ass big, classic, and even EPIC fights, one of the big match winners was the number of Gypsies, or the amount of screams heard throughout the battle. Why? Because not everyone is a Tanker-Built, and not everyone owns a Orc Hero headgear.
Number 7: The Stalker

Lets face it. Before the Renewal, Stalkers were one of the best Stealth Characters but sadly ended up being used as Emergency Callers over their basic skills. To say a stalker can't do much is an understatement, but besides doing the "Calls", with the 5 minute cooldown aftercast, any Stalker would be fresh meat to the Main Killing machines.
Number 6: The Creator

Acid Demonstration. Chem Protection. AD,AD,AD,AD. Thats about it for the general Creators. An easy job no doubt, but although easy, they got the job done. Creators were sometimes match deciders as the amount of Bottles flying left and right could PWN a Tanker easily. I was saying at least 5 creators throwing their stuff on you.
Number 5: The Paladin

Heart and Soul of the team for many, the Paladin could be a killing machine, and also a life force. In some epic fights and heavy AOEs all over the place, (not to mention a crowded Emperium), a fully buffed Paladin with superb equipments were the reason one team survives while others get wiped out. The only reason why he's not near the top of the list is because if its down to 1 Paladin, he's pretty much useless.
Number 4: The High Wizard

Many question why the High Wizard isnt in the Top 3 ranks since most guilds depend on the high wizards to stop enemies from moving forward, or for dealing mass damage that can drain the enemies pots. The only problem is their counterparts of the coin from the mage academy grew up to become Anti-Mages, which evolved to be the more important classes on a better day.
Number 3: The Professor

What happens when you head into war without a professor? You'd probably be able to figure that out youself. The Professor has a variety of negative debuffs and protective skills that can protect his team, and on the offensive aspect, reliable in taking the lead. Not to mention their quite tough to kill with or without a Devotion Paladin looking out for them.
Number 2: The Champion

The last time I recalled, thest Asura strike was pretty much the fastest way to take off those Meat Tanks in tight situations. At the heart of every battle, especially Emperium Battles, the Champion was one of those Defenders whom you could depend on. A smart champion takes his chances at the right time. A foolish one simply strikes anything that gets near, but nonetheless gets the job done even if he's not a super pro player. The only reason why this class isnt sitting at the top of the list is because there are alot of ways to reduce a Champ's damage, and that he's not very good at taking a old-school Banging. Which brings us to the top vote.
Number 1: The Assassin Cross

You disagree? Probably you havent met a real "SinX" or probably you're playing a private server in which everyone is godlike. In our records, the most badass Assassin Crosses were feared server-wide. In terms of Offense and Defence, a strong, or Super SinX usually could take out any class that he strikes. Breaking an Emperium was a piece of cake if he had the required weapons and equipments, and for some time the Assassin Cross was regarded as imbalance, and many questions were raised against it patch after patch. The SinX is also one of the few characters that could be used during lower levels, and still manage to pull off impressive performances. The biggest reason its at the top of the list, is because no matter how big your army is, without this class you're not gonna win the war. |
